Balance Transfer (BTR) Procedures
New Process
- From now on new subscribers don’t have to follow the following process, they will have a built in option for balance transfer in their new SIM.
- Existing subscribers will not get built in facility in their SIM unless and until they change their SIM.
New Balance Transfer Process
Transfer Balance-> Give Receiver’s Mobile Number -> Confirm Mobile No -> Give Amount -> Confirm Amount -> Give PIN
New Pin Change Process
Give Old PIN-> Give New PIN-> Confirm New PIN Register
To Register
- Go to create new message option and type REGI.
- Then send the message to 1000.
- Subscribers will receive a confirmation message where the PIN code number for balance transfer will be given.
To Transfer Balance
- Go to create new message option and type BTR(space)****(PIN)(space)0171***(mb no)(space)100(amount). Never type any dot or Tk. or 00 after the amount figure.
- Then send the message to 1000.
- Subscribers will receive a confirmation message mentioning that the amount has been transferred successfully. With this their current balance after the transfer will be also shown.
Receiver of the balance will also get a message mentioning that he/she has received balance in his/her account and his/her current balance will be shown.
To Change PIN
- Go to create new message option and type CPIN (space) OLDPIN (space) NEWPIN (space) NEWPIN. [Example: CPIN 1234 4321 4321]
- Then send the message to 1000.

GrameenPhone MMS Settings for iPhone
For GrameenPhone users, the good news is – you can configure it easily!
Just follow the tutorial.
1. Make sure you have internet package enable (P1 – P7)
2. Go to Settings >> General >> Network


3. From Network options go to Cellular Data Network
Make sure your Cellular Data APN is gpinternet. Now configure the MMS settings as follows:
APN: gpmms
MMSC: http://mms.gpsurf.net/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy: 10.128.1.2:8080
Thats it! Leave everything else as it is.
4. Restart iPhone!
5. From Home go to Messages
You should see the camera button on left of the text box. Tapping on it will bring up a menu to take a new photo or video, or choose an existing photo or video. Note that you cannot choose anything except from Camera Roll.

“GrameenPhone” Internet and MMS Settings for Android
To enable GrameenPhone’s Internet and MMS, you’ll need to create to APNs separately.
Internet APN
- Go to Settings >> Wireless & Networks >> Moblie Networks >> Access Point Names
- Press the Menu button
- Tap on New APN
- Under Name, type: Internet, tap Ok
- Under APN, type: gpinternet, tap Ok. Note: gpinternet is case-sensitive.
- Press Menu again
- Tap SAVE
- Done with enabling Internet. Don’t touch anything else. (Note: You may need to reboot the device to make it working for the first time).
MMS APN
- Go to Settings >> Wireless & Networks >> Moblie Networks >> Access Point Names
- Press the Menu button
- Tap on New APN
- Under Name, type: MMS, tap Ok.
- Under APN, type: gpmms. Note: gpmms is case-sensitive.
- MMSC: http://mms.gpsurf.net/servlets/mms
- MMS Proxy: 10.128.1.2
- MMS Port: 8080
- APN Type: mms <- this part is the most important, you won’t be able to use MMS if you don’t choose “mms” as the type. Case-sensetive.
- Press Menu
- Tap SAVE
- Done. You may need to reboot once after the settings.
